Carmilla

Scenic and Costume designs for an unrealized production of Carmilla, based on the 1872 novel by Sheridan La Fanu. Shown at the Southeastern Louisiana University Contemporary Art Gallery, May 2023.

As my final project with Southeastern Louisiana University I worked as Scenographer for a stage production of Carmilla. This conceptual production imagens the novel as a goth-rock melodrama which pulls from 80’s fashion and contemporary concert stages. For the exhibition of this body of work I designed the posters which would dress the walls of the set, as well as built the “tomb” which would feature in the show. Along with this I fully built the dress shown on the model, splicing and altering patterns to create the dress I designed. The exhibition also included the scale model of the stage.
