Mena Perkins
Mena is a theatre designer and scenic artist from Covington, LA. He has always been passionate about using theatre as a means of storytelling, and has focused on achieving this through scenic design for the past three years.
He earned his BA in Visual Arts with a concentration in Theatre Design form Southeastern Louisiana University in May 2023. During his time at Southeastern he worked for two years as the assistant for the campus costume shop and spent his final semester working as a scenic painter.
Following his degree, he has worked as a scenic painter for Jefferson Performing Arts Society in New Orleans, in addition to doing contract costume fabrication. Alongside this he he did scenic design for The Tennessee Williams Company of New Orleans, Jefferson Performing Arts Society, and the Independence Theatre in Baton Rouge, LA.
He now lives in Champaign, IL, attending The University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in pursuit of his MFA in scenic design.
